  • Both PARALEGAL(S) and LAWYER(S) are shareholders in a professional corporation, and
  • The business of the partnership or professional corporation is the practice of law and the provision of legal services in Ontario.

For detailed information on mandatory insurance for PARALEGALS, see By-Law 6, Part II of the Law Society Act.

Maximum of $1 million per claim/$2 million in the aggregate coverage for claims brought against you, as defined in the LAWPRO® Policy.

If you are joining or establishing a CLF as a PARALEGAL partner or shareholder

Once the Law Society of Ontario has approved the partnership or professional corporation, a representative of the firm will contact LAWPRO for the Combined Licensee Firm application form.

Once completed by the PARALEGAL, the firm will forward the application form to LAWPRO for processing. When approved, the policy will be put in place and the policy documentation will be forwarded to the PARALEGAL.

Premium Upon our receipt of your completed application form, LAWPRO will individually underwrite the PARALEGAL.
