Quality Assurance Analyst – CO-OP Placement

During this four-month work term, the Quality Assurance Analyst will have the opportunity to help ensure the best customer experience as well as operational efficiency of TitlePLUS software by assisting and applying the principles and practices of software quality assurance. This typically includes running tests, identifying errors and providing feedback to ensure our platform meets the evolving needs of our customers.

Job responsibilities

Under the guidance and in collaboration with a mentor/Business Analyst, the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will:

  • Compose, refine and document test plans/scripts to ensure the reliability and functionality of the TitlePLUS+ portal
  • Collaborate in the refinement of test procedures and test cases, i.e. feature focused and regression
  • Execute test plans/cases in multiple environments, i.e. pre-production and production environments
  • Communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from the test results to the cross functional product team
  • Document all the defects that are found during testing cycle.
  • Analyze range of scenarios, business and technical requirements
  • Ensures the product feature adheres to the product requirements/specifications with an eye to end user experience (UX)
  • Participate in all aspects of QA lifecycle. These include: QA estimating & planning, QA reporting & documentation.
  • In concert with the Business Analyst, track and conduct historical analyses of test results.
  • Review test cases/scenarios to make sure all requirements are covered.
  • Participate in UAT smoke test (system shake down testing).
  • Collaborate with the development team to reproduce observed issue.
  • Support production deployments, participate in Production Verification Tests (PVT).

Qualifications

  • Proficient in navigating and troubleshooting web applications on Chrome and Edge web browsers
  • Familiarity with web app authentication and authorization principles, i.e. JSON web tokens
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written comprehension and expression
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Information ordering
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Familiarity with iFrame, modal window, tab out user interfaces an asset
  • Familiarity with iterative software development practices, i.e. Agile methodology is an asset
  • Ability and flexibility to work off hours
